Formal elements of design, such as color, texture, shape, space and line, are at the core of this work. The system of distribution of these elements, such as the spacing of intervals, whether they interlock, overlap or fall adjacent to one another is key in determining the complexity and the path the viewer's eye takes.
I have no subject or object in mind when I create these pieces. If they are named, they are named after I have finished the piece and have considered them for awhile. I hope the viewer will appreciate them for the use of elements of design as much as for what it might remind them of.
